<br />Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #07-04- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS, APPROVING A eOMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM PLAeES TO SHOP <br />TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL AND AUTHORIZING eITY STAFF TO <br />SUBMIT AN APPLIeATlON TO THE METROPOLITAN eOUNelL FOR AN <br />AMENDMENT TO THE eOMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 14,2006, the City of Ramsey recelved an application from DPM <br />Investments (the "Applicant") requesting an amendment to ~e Comprehensive Plan to change <br />the future land use designation from Places to Shop to Medium Density Residential, for the . <br />following legally described property: <br /> <br />Lot 3, Block 4. Riverside West, Anoka County. Minnesota, according to the <br />recorded plat thereof and that part of Lot 1, Block 1, Riverview Bowl, Anoka <br />County. Minnesota according to the recorded plat thereof lying southerly of the <br />westerly extension of the north line of Lot 2, Block 1, said plat ofRiverview Bowl. <br /> <br />(The Subject Property) <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved in 2001 shows the Subject <br />Property designated land use as Places to Shop; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property owners are requesting that the Subject Property's designated <br />land use be ch~ged to Medium Density Residential; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Subject Property is bordered on the north by a bowling alley, on the <br />west by mini-storage units and single-family homes, on the south by a vacant single-family lot. <br />and on the east by single-family homes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed land use will complement existing land uses in the area; and <br /> <br />waEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on September 7. 2006, conducted a <br />public hearing. and recommended that the Ramsey City Council deny the Applicant's request for <br />an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE eITY eOUNelL OF THE eITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA eOUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves/denies the request for a land use designation <br />change of the Subject Property from Places to Shop to Medium Density Residential. <br /> <br />-142- <br />
