level of service, based on control delay. Control delay is the delay experienced by vehicles
slowing down for a stop sign and the wait time at stop sign. Level of Service D is commonly
taken as an acceptable design year LOS.

Analvsis

The intersections were analyzed by the criteria listed above. Table 3 details the operational
results for the exiting conditions and "for conditions after the connection is made. After the
connection is made no improvements to the intersections geometry were considered. .

Table 3: Operational Analysis
ntersectioD and Traffic Scenario Peak Hour Intersection Maximum Delay-LOS*"*
Control Volume*"
Existing AM 699 12.fi..B
TH 47 & IS? The
traffic -that is added from the connection is negligible and does not affect the level of service for
any of the intersection movements.

The existing tciffic on 157m Lane, just west ofm 47, was measured at 980 vehicles per day.
With the roadway extension, it is projected that there will be a maximum increase of90 vehicles
per day (9% increase) for a total of1,070 vehicles per day on 157tb Lane.

The existing traffic using Potassium Street to the South is estimated at 60 vehicles per day based
on recent counts. .A.s the residential developments are completed, daily tra!fic is estimated at 520
vehicles per day.
