MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT

1) Use of City Hall

Mayor Gamec stated he received comments from some businesses regarding a meeting being
held at City Hall. The lower level of City Hall has been rented to an attorney's office to present
information on personal injury suits. Several of the businesses were not pleased that City Hall
was being leased for this purpose. Mayor Gamec stated it is not a good practice to use City Hall
for meetings such as these.

Ms. Waite Smith stated the request was for holding a free legal clinic for residents in the City of
Ramsey. She agreed with the Mayor's concerns. This has been discussed by staff since it was
brought to their attention. Ms. Waite Smith explained that many times City staff does not know
exactly what the renter of the room intends to use the room for.

Mayor Gamec stated a City policy should be set to address things like this. He suggested a form
be created to obtain information on the use of the public building.

Councilmember Haas Steffen suggested the City Attorney put together a policy for handling
these types of requests.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Beahen, and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to adjourn
the meeting.

Motion carried.
