CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 24, 1998, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Community Development Director Cindy Sherman <br />Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular portion of the City Council meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. <br />and called upon Councilmember Beyer to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced the public hearing for the Comprehensive Plan will be held on <br />Tuesday, December 1, 1998, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., at the <br />Ramsey Elementary School. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec wished the citizens ofRamsey a Happy Thanksgiving. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen stated she would like to talk about an issue coming before <br />the Planning Commission next week relating to rezoning of Reilley Estates. This City <br />Council has talked about wanting to have some say in zoning for sensitive areas. If that <br />comes before the Planning Commission, they would have to deny it if we would have the <br />ability to deal with sensitive issues. It may have to be placed in a moratorium and she <br />added that she would not vote in favor of the request when it comes to the City Council. <br />She would suggest denying the rezoning and placing it in a moratorium to determine how <br />you want to zone it. <br /> <br />Consensus was to add this issue to tonight's agenda. <br /> <br />City Council/November 24, 1998 <br /> Page 3 of 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
