Officers arrived and located what was found to be "Hazardous Materials" that had been
discarded by unknown persons.

Fire Marshal Streich informed the Council that he received a call from the Police Department
asking him to respond to a location to deal with chemicals found in the woods. He responded
and tried to determine what the chemicals were, and secondly what to do with them. As the
night progressed he called several different agencies and found there were not many people that
wanted to handle the situation. Tests were conducted and it was determined that the chemicals
were the byproducts from a meth lab. West Central Environmental Consultants responded to the
scene to gather up the materials for safe disposal.

Mayor Gamec asked if any of the chemicals were spilled on the ground.

Fire Marshal Streich replied he is not certain if anything was absorbed into the earth. A sign was
posted and GPS coordinates were taken in order to create a GPS layer for the spill. At this time
this is open land.

City Council I April 10, 2007
Page 4 or 20
