PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, October 6, 1998, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, regarding a <br />request for a conditional use permit to exceed the maximum single accessory structure size limit; <br />case of Steve Dvorak. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Leo Anderson <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Joe Wivoda <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Cindy Sherman <br />Community Development Assistant Sean Walther <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Deemer convened the public hearing at 8:58 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Walther explained an application was received for a <br />conditional use permit to exceed the maximum single accessory structure size restrictions on the <br />property at 6641 - 157th Avenue NW. He stated the subject property is .9 acres in size and is <br />restricted to a total of 1,488 square feet of garage and accessory building space. Additionally, <br />there is a 624 square foot size restriction on any single accessory structure. The Dvorak's <br />currently have a 528 square foot attached garage. They are proposing to construct a 936 square <br />foot accessory building in which to store personal items. <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Walther stated the proposed 936 square foot accessory <br />building is within the parameters for total garage space allowed on the subject property, but it will <br />exceed the maximum single building size by 304 square feet: He indicated if the Planning <br />Commission denied the application, the applicant could construct a second accessory structure to <br />compensate for the total square footage.
