PUBLIC FIEARING
PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, October 6, 1998, at
the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, regarding a
request for an interim use permit for a temporary office structure; case of Transwest, Inc.

Members Present:

Acting Chairperson Benjamin Deemer
Commissioner Leo Anderson
Commissioner Sharon Jensen
Commissioner Chares LaDue
Commissioner Joe Wivoda

Members Absent:

Chairperson David Bawden

Also Present:

Community Development Director Cindy Sherman
Community Development Assistant Sean Walther

CALL TO ORDER

Acting Chairperson Deemer convened the public hearing at 9:02 p.m.

PRESENTATION

Community Development Director Sherman explained on July 24, 1997, the City issued an
interim use permit to Transwest, Inc. (aka Communicor) at 6100 Industry Avenue NW for the
utilization of a 720 square foot modular office on the property for a one year period. That permit
expired on August 1, 1998, and the applicants have requested permission to use the temporary
office structure for one more year to complete their assessment of space needs for expansion or
relocation. City Code requires a new public hearing and re-issuance of a permit upon expiration
of the original permit. She indicated the City has previously granted permits for the use of
temporary office structures for two years or more in the industrial district. She stated City staff
recommends approval of the interim use permit for another 12-month period.

CITIZEN INPUT

There was none.

Public Hearing/Planning Commission/October 6, 1998
Page 1 of 2
