Citizen Input

The following are comments received into this official record of the public hearing:

D.A. Lee, 16685 Garnet Street NW - "I've recently moved here and enjoy cross-country skiing
as well as day hiking. I'd like you to consider developing trails limited to motorized vehicles
which might detract from these activities."

Mary and Bob Maxton, 2125 Argonne Drive, Columbia Heights, MN - "We have been following
with considerable interest this complex Moratorium - Planning Study. We hope that it can be
rapidly concluded, early in 1999 -- so we can move on with our plans."

Ben Deemer, 14501 Sunfish Boulevard NW - "Page 113, third line, last word, "are" would be
better if worded "might be" -- and add words that state the boundary line is not a finite line."

Ronald M. Canner Jr., 18090 Roanoke Street NW - "I am writing to support the proposed
Comprehensive Plan as it affects the north east comer of the City of Ramsey. This part of the
city is largely developed but a few remnants of rural zoning remain interspersed with residential
lots of 2.5 acres and smaller. Making the zoning in this area uniformly at 2.5 acre minimum lot
size will permit orderly development of the remaining land without adverse impacts on the ample
green space already set aside in local parks and lowlands. I commend the City for it's efforts to
preserve the benefits its residents value the most."

Luanne Lemberg, 15334 Rhinestone Street NW - "I'm very impressed with the plan for Ramsey
parks. We need to have a community center in Ramsey. Our children take advantage of the one
in Shoreview and appreciate all it has to offer to the community. Let's have one here in
Ramsey."

Joe Ward, 14961 Waco Street NW - "I think a great deal of good work has been done! I plan to
read the plan in more detail over the next week and provide additional comments as necessary.
Thank you."

J. Norman, 14451 Potassium Street NW - "Best dam plan I've seen."

Bill and Sandy Hawkins, 4680 152nd Court NW - "The Comprehensive Plan looks good overall.
The two areas of concern we have are: 1) The density of the housing, the type of housing that
will go on the large parcel of land north of 153rd on the east side of Hwy 47. 2) The intersection
of Hwy 47 and 153rd. It is extremely dangerous (especially in the winter). I hope no one is
seriously injured while we wait for the traffic lights and improvements to that stretch of road.
Thanks to the people who have put their time and energy into the development of this plan and
for the ability to have input in the process."

A. Jerome and Maryjeanne Arneson, 5851 147th Lane NW - "We appreciate the use of boulevard
trees in the city. Please keep up the tree mulching around newly planted boulevard and park
trees. Tree protectors (white plastic) are a great help to ward off animals. Watering new trees
during drought periods sure is helpful. The more walking trails the better.
