Scott and Susan Solberg Lf ';;{ (---l..e q 1; 0
6690 153rd Ct NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

April 22, 2007

Ramsey Planning Commision
7550 Sunwood Drive NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

To Whom it May Concern:

I'd like to comment on the possible Conditional Use Permit extendend to T -Mobile as proposed in
a letter sent by the City of Ramsey. I understand the need for cell phone towers for improving
coverage in an expanding market. However, I am not supportive of the site chosen for this cell
phone tower.

The City of Ramsey has built a functional and family friendly park that contains some very
beautiful elements. The pond that is located next to the proposed tower is home to many ducks
and geese. We see other various wildlife here as well (e.g. birds, small mammals, and deer).
The tall nOlway pine trees behind the pond even cover up the fence and much of the existing
landfill. The natural setting has created a fantastic view that we enjoy directly from the rear of our
home. I'm sure there are many hikers and bikers that share the trail that feel the same way.

I feel that a tower that extends 165 feet into the air will ruin the aesthetics of Alpine Parle The city
has gone through the expense and effort to create this park, so this addition does not make much
sense. I understand that location is very important to cell phone functionality, however I feel there
are other sites nearby that would also be suitable. My first preference is for the tower to be built
elsewhere, but if it must reside in Alpine Park there are two sites that seem more appropriate.
One is to relocate it to the fenceline in between ball fields two and three (the only backdrop here is
landfill). The other location is west of the pond and sledding hill where it is not as obvious (mostly
trees here).

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to voice my opinion on this issue.

Sincerely,

~iltf/ ~

Scott Solberg.
