. This type of format allows players to use their
imagination and individual skills because there are
no positions in 3 on 3. It teaches players to play two-
way hockey.
. There is almost no stoppage of play in a 1 hour
game, so players skate more instead of standing
around between whistles. (There are no off sides,
icing, and the puck is live unless the goalie has it
covered. )
. Players will have the puck on their stick more than 5
on 5 games.
. Goal tenders will see more shots in an hour than in a
5 on 5 game (not uncommon for the goalies to see a
shot every 10 to 15 seconds.

2. Ice rental to area hockey associations will be our main
focus in the winter months. We think this will be a great
option for most associations for various reasons:

. Due to the huge demand for ice and the rise in
popularity in hockey in the past 10 years, many
associations are over whelmed and do not have
enough ice time for all their teams in the winter.
They are unable to build arenas or additional sheets
of ice because of the financial burden of not being
able to keep the ice rented out in the summer
months. We would offer the 2/3 size rink to rent out
in these winter months for their younger aged teams
(squirt, mite, initiation, and learn to skate
programs.) This would allow them to offer their older
teams, (pee-wee, bantam, Jr. Gold, high school,
etc....), more practice and game hours at their own
arena instead of having to travel all over.

3. Birthday parties and other events:
. We will be offering birthday party packages at the
rink which will offer 1 hour of ice time and 50
minutes in our concession/seating area. We believe
this to be a better option to the options people have
now because the kids would be getting exercise
while enjoying them selves.
. We are looking into offering some ice time to the
special needs and disabled hockey associations.
For ex. - The Minnesota sled hockey association (for
wheel chair confined hockey players.)

12
