CONSENT # • ADOPT RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION #07 -04 -098 AND ADOPTING THIS RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND TO THE POLICE BUDGET OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO COVER THE COST OF CLEAN -UP OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS By: James Way, Police Chief Background: During the regular meeting of April 10, 2007, Council discussed a case regarding clandestine lab materials clean-up and adopted a resolution transferring funds in the amount of $3,163.78 from the Council Contingency Fund to pay for the cost of the clean-up. Staff has since received another invoice from WCEC, Inc. (attached) in the amount of $3,505.78 (difference of $342), stating that the time spent performing the clean-up was incorrectly billed at 1.5X. It should have been billed at Double Time because the clean-up occurred on a Sunday. Staff is asking Council to rescind Resolution #07 -04 -098 which transferred the funds of $3,163.78 and to adopt the attached Resolution which requests authorization to transfer funds in the amount of $3,505.78. Funding: The cost for the meth lab remnants clean-up is $3,505.78 and staff is asking that the funding source be a transfer from the Council Contingency Fund to the Police Budget of Professional . Services. (Council previously approved the transfer of $3,163.78.) Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends Council adopt the Resolution authorizing the transfer of funds to cover the entire cost of the clean-up of the hazardous materials. Council Action: Motion to adopt Resolution 407- 05 -XXX rescinding Resolution 407 -04 -098 and adopting this resolution authorizing the transfer of funds from the Council Contingency Fund to the Police Budget of Professional Services to cover the cost of clean-up of hazardous materials.
