<br />Councilmember Olson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #07-03-082 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY FOUNDATION, INC. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a foundation has been formed called The City of Ramsey Foundation, Inc. <br />(the Foundation) to foster strategies that will provide financial support for projects to benefit the <br />citizens and community of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Foundation was formed to develop and sustain initiatives that may not <br />be funded or completed if they relied solely on gaining access to tax dollars; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Foundation will be inclusive, with a broad scope of service and a focus <br />that is solidly rooted citizen and business community needs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Foundation will work in tandem with the City of Ramsey, Ramsey <br />businesses, and other Ramsey area organizations to ensure needs within our growing community <br />are met as timely as possible; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Foundation's focus is on the economic development of the City of <br />Ramsey and to support various projects and aid in positive economic development plans for the <br />good of the community. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, COUNTY OF ANOKA, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby expresses its support for the City of <br />Ramsey Foundation, Inc. <br /> <br />That the motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Gamec <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br />
