Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #06-11-390 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING RESIGNATION OF CITY EMPLOYEE JAMES E. NORMAN WHEREAS, City Employee, James E. Norman, is the Ramsey City Administrator and is employed pursuant to the terms of an Employment Agreement dated February 2, 1998 and amended on August 9, 2001; January 27, 2004; January 25, 2005; and February 28, 2006 the "Employee Agreement"; and WHEREAS, the City Council has held a closed meeting to evaluate the performance of City employee James E. Norman and in summary Mr. Norman has voluntarily tendered his resignation as City administrator effective December 31, 2006; and WHEREAS, the City concludes that it is in the City's best interests to accept Mr. Norman's resignation from employment with the City; and WHEREAS, the City and Mr. Norman have agreed that Mr. Norman's employment with the City will conclude as provided in a separate written separation agreement (the "Separation Agreement"); and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City hereby accepts the resignation of James E. Norman as City Administrator, effective December 31, 2006. 2. That the City enter into the Separation Agreement in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. 3. That the City's Mayor and City Attorney are authorized to execute the Separation Agreement on behalf of the City.
