<br />FC CASE # <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />FIRE ENGINE BID A W ARB <br />By: Dean Kapler, Fire CI1ief <br /> <br />Background; <br /> <br />On February 13,2007 City Council accepted statrs specifications and authorized soliciting bids <br />for a new fire engine. Although bids were received. staff recommended rejecting bids, altering <br />specifications and re-bidding. Council approved that action on April 24, 2007. <br /> <br />Bid proposals were received and opened on May 14,2007 from two manufacturers, Custom Fire <br />and Rosenbauer-General. Bids were in the amount of $358,999 and $365,765 respectively. At the <br />time of case preparation staff is in the process of analyzing the bid documents to verify <br />compliance and determine appropriate pre-payments and additions. <br /> <br />Staff will bring a recommendation the night of May 22, 2007 for discussion. <br /> <br />Funding: <br /> <br />The amount of $360,000 is included in the adopted 2007 budget (220-6550) and will be funded <br />through capital equipment certificates. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff will bring a recommendation to the Finance Committee the evening of May.22, 2007. <br />Copies of the bid documents will be available for discussion. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Recommend to City Council to accept/reject statr s recommendation. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to acceptIreject Committees recommendation. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Director <br />Fire Chief <br /> <br />FC: OS/22/2007 <br />
