3 -- City Council Work Session Topic Report: Happy Days Update By: Tim Gladhill Management Intern Background: Planning is well underway for the 2007 Happy Days festival. The Happy Days Committee is excited for new opportunities in 2007. Happy Days will be held again in Town Center on the Municipal Center Campus and parking ramp. Sponsorship to date is $10,459, as well as numerous gift certificate donations from local businesses. Happy Days has contracted with the Rockin' Hollywoods as entertainment for the Street Dance. Committee members continue to seek additional sponsorship opportunities. The Happy Days Committee is excited to announce that fireworks are preliminarily being planned as part of the 2007 festivities. The committee is recommending that various sponsorship dollars be reallocated to fireworks, most notably the cash prizes at the Street Dance. Cash prizes are still planned for the Teen Dance and possibly the car show. The Happy Days Committee has been approached by Independent Luxury Homes about a possible partnership between Happy Day and the Hope House Benefit WalklBenefit Concert. The potential partnership includes sharing advertising resources for both events. The Hope House Benefit activities would be on Sunday, September 16th, the day following Happy Days. The Benefit Walk is planned for a location yet to be determined within the City of Ramsey and the Benefit Concert is planned to be at Diamonds Sports Bar. Independent Luxury Homes is looking to share advertising resources with Happy Days. Registration forms for the various events are planned to be mailed and posted on the web site within the next few weeks. Funding Source: Event sponsorship & Council General Fund.
