<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> <br />~ #~// <br />City of \~j~y' "="""- <br />RAMSE <br /> <br />Topic Report: City Administrator Search: Review of Qualified Applicants <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Waters-Oldani received 53 applications in response to the city administrator job announcement <br />Consultant Andrea Sims narrowed the pool to 19 applicants based on the position requirements. <br />Five of the 19 candidates withdrew from the process for a variety of reasons, and one applicant has <br />not yet submitted the required questionnaire. <br /> <br />Members of the City Council will receive, under separate cover, hard copies of the resumes and <br />questionnaires submitted by the 14 applicants who were deemed by Ms. Sims to be qualified to <br />advance in the process. At the May 29th work session, the City Council will be selecting 7-10 <br />individuals from the 14 qualified applicants to be interviewed by Waters-Oldani. In addition, staff <br />is providing each member of the City Council with a CD that contains copies of the resumes of <br />applicants who were not selected to advance in the process. <br /> <br />Please note that under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, the names of all applicants <br />are considered private data and may not be shared with anyone. In addition, resumes and <br />questionnaires may not be shared with anyone or duplicated. In an effort to protect the privacy of <br />the applicants, staff will assign each applicant a number and during the work session, which is <br />open to the public, the applicants will be referred to by their assigned number. After the May 29th <br />work session, staff will collect all resumes and questionnaires under the advisement of City <br />Attorney Goodrich. <br /> <br />Next Steps <br /> <br />Once the City Council has selected the semi-finalists (May 29~ and those individuals have been <br />interviewed by Waters-Oldani, Andrea Sims will provide the City Council with a summary of the <br />pros and cons of each semi-finalist based on her interviews. The pros and cons, along with Ms. <br />Sims' recommendations for 4-6 finalists will be discussed via conference call on June 19,2007. <br />Upon being selected for interviews with the City Council, candidates' names will become public <br />information <br /> <br />Attachments: <br /> <br />· Applicant Resumes and Questionnaires <br />· CD containing the resumes of the applicants who were not selected to advance in the <br />process. <br />CCWS: May 29, 2007 <br />
