PRESENTATION TO FIRE <br />PROBATIONARY PERIOD <br /> <br />FIGHTERS <br /> <br />COMMEMORATING END OF <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler introduced Fire Fighters Timothy Bergerson, Chad <br />Fossum, Daniel Johnson, Matthew Kohner, Dustin Lemke, Roger Peterson, David Rollins, and <br />Brian Wetterlind. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adopt Resolution #03-05-101 <br />ending the probationary period for paid on-call Fire Fighters. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Elvig, Cook, Kurak, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented each of the Fire Fighters with their badges. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY TASK FORCE (EPTF) PRESENTED A DRAFT TREE <br />PRESERVATION ORDINANCE TO CITY COUNCIL AND EACH COUNCILMEMBER <br />RECEIVED A PERSONAL COPY OF THE RAMSEY TREE BOOK <br /> <br />Joe McDilda, Chairperson of the Environmental Policy Task Force, presented a draft tree <br />preservation ordinance to the City Council in addition to a Ramsey Tree Book that will be made <br />available to the public. He noted that the ordinance is scheduled for a public hearing at the June <br />5th Planning Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec thanked the Environmental Policy Task Force for their work on drafting a Tree <br />Preservation Ordinance as well as the tree book. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig complimented the Task Force on gathering a group of people with diverse <br />backgrounds and putting together some great information. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak thanked the Environmental Policy Task Force for going out of their way <br />to get the information put together in a timely fashion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson stated that trees have changed the City tremendously over the years and <br />commended the Task Force for the work they have done. <br /> <br />The City Council met earlier in a closed session with the City Attorney to discuss the <br />following two items: 1) Ken's Auto, and 2) County Road #116 condemnation <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />City Council/May 13, 2003 <br /> Page 4 of 29 <br /> <br /> <br />
