.cAs <br /> <br />INTRODUCE ORDINANCE TO ADOPT 2003 BUILDING CONSTRUCTION, <br />PLANNING, SUBDMDING AND PLATTING FEES <br /> By: Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The 2001 Legislature, in its regular and special sessions, made several amendments to <br />statutes that apply to the Minnesota Building Codes and Standards Division and the <br />Minnesota State Building Code. One of the amendments is that municipal fees for <br />building construction must be adopted by ordinance, as well as zoning, subdivision and <br />platting fees. Last November, City Council adopted resolution #02-11-288 adopting all <br />City rates and charges for 2003. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Per State legislation, Staff has prepared an ordinance to ratify the fees established last <br />November. In addition, the ordinance proposes to amend the Building Code Chapter of <br />City Code to identify that the City will be requiring permits for reroof'mg. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff.recommends introduction of the enclosed ordinance. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to introduce Ordinance #03- to ratify the 2003 building construction fees. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />Building Official <br />Finance Officer <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />CC: 01/14/03 <br /> <br />-193- <br /> <br /> <br />
