Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #03-01- <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRIBUTION TOWARD COST OF EMPLOYEE <br /> HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey must attract and retain quality employees to serve the <br />community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, competitively priced health insurance is an essential benefit neceSsary to <br />effectively compete for quality employees; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the collective bargaining agreements between the City and it s employee <br />unions AFSCME and LELS requires that we negotiate the city contribution toward health <br />insurance benefits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it serves the city's interest to provide non-union employees with <br />comparable benefits to union employees; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the administration has negotiated with the unions and reached a tentative <br />agreement regarding city contribution toward the cost of health insurance benefits. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to do the following: <br />A. Provide a contribution of up to $ 376.00 toward the cost of single health insurance <br /> coverage for all eligible employees and, <br />B. Provide a contribution of $ 592.00 toward the cost of family health insurance <br /> coverage for'all eligible employees and, <br />C. Approve a contingency transferin an amount not toexceed $ 8,000 covering the <br /> additional cost of employer contribution toward health insurance cost. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember, <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 14® day of January, 2003. <br /> <br />-297- <br /> <br /> <br />
