Trudgeon:

I want to take this opportunity to convey a formal expression of .intereSt in being, appointed to the
vacant position on the Town Center Task Force. My experience as a professional transportation
planner provides me with a familiarity of the intricate details involved with balancing land use and
transportation infrastructure investment decisions.

My past community involvement experience has included efforts on voluntary comprehensive
planning committees for the cities of Altamonte Springs and Longwood; Flodda, both rapidly growing
suburban communities in the Metropolitan Orlando area. For a period in the late 80's, I sen/ed on
the Land Planning Agency (aka, Planning and Zoning Commission) for the City of Loagwood: Prior
to my return to the Midwest, I served as Chair/Vice-chair for the METROPLAN ORLANDO Bicycle
/ Pedestrian Advisory Committee. This BPAC is one of the advisory-committees of the Orlando
Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization charged with the planning-and prioritization of
bicycle and pedestrian enhancement projects under TEA-21 and, formerly ISTEA.

Personally, I'm interested in seeing the Town Center developed in a manner that, one day, evolves
into an identifiable, vibrant, safe, diverse, mix of land uses that metro residents are draw;n to visit, as
well as.serving as our station for going Downtown on the Northstar commuter rail.line.

If you wish to further discuss my interest in serVing on this imPortant task force, or have questions on
my' prior committee roles, please feel free to contact me at (763) 422-0151 (home) or (763) 591-
5446 (work).

Will Thompson, AICP

I
!
I
I
i
I
I

!
I
I
I
I

I
I

I
!
I
