PUBLIC SAFETY BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Tile Ramsey Public Safety Board conducted a regular meeting on Thursday~ January 16, 2003, m <br />the Conference Room of the Police Station, 1515.3 NoWthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Melnbers Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Tom Anderson <br />Board Member Tom Gamec <br />Board Member Dave Lewendowski <br />Board Member Al Pearson <br />Board Member Brad Paplham <br />Board Member Allison Ward <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief James Way <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson called the regular meeting of the Public Safety'Board to order at 6:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Nolle. <br /> <br />GENERAL ADMINISTRATION ISSUES <br /> <br />Case #1: Discussion of Board Procedures/City Code IssUes <br /> <br />Police Chief Way presented changes that were being made by the City COuncil regarding Board <br />Procedures for the Board's review. <br /> <br />Case #2: Process for Vacant Board Member Positions <br /> <br />Police Chief Way explained that the Board needed to discuss how many positions there should <br />be on the Public Safety Board, noting that City Code allowS' for nine mernbers. <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson stated that he felt having the four citizen members in addition to the <br />representatives from Police and Fire would be adequate. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Public Safety Board was that the Board should be comprised of one member <br />fi'onl the Police Department, one member from the Fire Department, two Councilmembers, and <br />three residents. <br /> <br />Public Safety Board/January 16, 2003 <br /> Page 1 of 7 <br /> <br />-9-/- <br /> <br /> <br />
