I
would like to be considered for that seat.

I have lived in Ramse), since December of 1999. My husband and I have one child still in school,
our son who is in ei§hth grade at Sandburg Middle School; Since moving here, we have been
involved with youth sports, scouts, and various school events. Last year I serveo as a parent
participant on the World Languages and ESL Study Committee for the Anoka School District
which met six' times in order to produce a report to the district. Up. until recently, I was
employed full dine as a director of public programs and education for a medieval manuscripts
research library at St_ Jokn's University. Collapse of funding and the elimination of my position
has left me free to pursue my own research and writing projects (as a postdoctoral assodate at
the University of Minnesota) and to participate in my local community. I have always kept up with
community issues and would like to become more pe~onally involved now that I h~ve the
freedom to do so.

In the past I have been an instru~or at various metro area universities and colleges and also
worked as an administrator for the Hennepin History. Museum in Minneapolis prior to my last
employment_ If there is ~ny other pertinent information I can provide, please contact me by mail,
phone or emaii (see heading). Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
/: :. 0

Deborah J. Shepherd

-143-
