-32- APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Kurak., to approve the agenda adding Case #A and the discussion of Patching on Alpine Drive west of T.H. #47, C.R. #116 Corridor StudY, Winter Trail Maintenance, and Moving of Cul-de-sac Mailboxes under Committee/Staff Input. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec and'Councilmembers Hendriksen, Kurak, Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None: COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #A: Priority Street Light at the Intersection of 158th Lane NW and Variolite Principal City Engineer Olson stated that the reason for priority street lighting policy is to provide for safer intersections and the intersection of 158th and Variolite has been scheduled for years, but has been delayed in the past. Mr. Olson presented a handout indicating what affect lighting would have on the area. Leo Offerman, Utility Services Representative for Connexus Energy, explained that Connexus Energy provides street lights to the City of Ramsey specifications. Mr. Offerman reviewed the design of the lighting explained that the City has been providing cut off style of lights to provide the proper amount of light on the roadway without the glare of light above. The light is designed to push the light out onto the roadway and not onto the property. Mr. Jagerson stated that he does not want the light at all, but if it is going to be installed he would prefer a house side shield on the back so that when he looks out the window he will not see the glare. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that it seemed that if the light were placed on the side of the road from Mr. Jagerson there would be less light on his property. Mr. Jagerson replied that he would prefer to have more light than have to stare at the arc tube. Mr. Offerman stated that he has not used the house shield like Mr. Jagerson is requesting, so he would not know how beneficial that would be. Principal City Engineer Olson inquired if Mr. Jagerson knew where they could purchase the house shield. Mr. Jagerson replied that he could provide that information.
