CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, January 21., .2003, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number Two, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember Todd Cook Councilmember David Elvig Councilmember Patti Kurak Councilmember A1 Pearson Councilmember Sarah Strommen Councilmember Jerry Zimmerman Also Present: City Administrator, James E. Norman Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon City Engineer Steve Jankowski Public Works Supervisor Grant Reimer CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 7:50 p.m. WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION 1) The Village of Sunfish Lake Subdivision Councilmember Kurak stated that she would be abstaining from the discussion. Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that LTR Development has submitted a. preliminary plat known as Village at Sunfish Lake for the land located south of Sunwood Drive between Potassium Street and 145th Lane. They had previously submitted a sketch plan that Was revised by the Planning Commission at their January 2, 2003 meeting. At the January 2 Planning Commission meting, the Planning Commission and neighboring residents brought up concerns relating to the proposed development. Concerns raised included the proposed densitY'of the development, the location of the trails, preservation of existing trees on the site, the Tungsten Street stub road connection, the narrow width of the streets, and the smaller sized lots. The applicant, after hearing the comments at the Planning Commission and talking to staff, has made City Council/January 21, 2003 Page 1 of 9 -89-
