I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> ! <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />'1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Councilmember <br />adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-02-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING YOUTH FIRST <br />BREAKFAST DAY FRIDAY, MARCH 21, 2003 <br /> <br />MAYORS' PRAYER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities of Andover, Anoka, and Ramsey, together with Anoka <br />County and Anoka-Hennepin School District #1 t, joined together in 1995 to form the <br />Northwest Anoka County Community Consortium, designed to create a public-private <br />community partnership to focus on better delivery of existing public services to children <br />and young adults; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Consortium is focusing on implementing a community-wide <br />vision for positive youth development and a detailed action plan to implement the results <br />of the Search Institute's Youth Needs Assessment Survey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Consortium oversees the initiative, known as Youth First, <br />which is responsible for accomplishing this action plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Consortium and Youth First encourage community partnerships <br />to improve the factors inhibiting healthy development of youth identified in the study to <br />assist youth in increasing their ability to make positive choices in their lives; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Annual Mayors' Prayer Breakfast serves to. solidify our <br />communities resolve in developing positive assets for our youth. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That Friday, March 21, 2003, is declared Youth First Day in the Cities of <br />Andover, Anoka and Ramsey, and a Mayors' Prayer Breakfast will be held on <br />that day in support of the Youth First initiative. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That we call upon the citizens in our communities to assist the work of the <br />Northwest Anoka County Community Consortium and Youth First to <br />implement a unified ,~ision for positive youth development in our <br />communities. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br /> <br />And the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />-97- <br /> <br /> <br />
