I I I I I I I i Councilmember adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved for its RESOLUTION #03-02-XXX RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT FOR COMPREHENSIVE REGIONAL PLANNING WHEREAS, legislation identified as House File 30 and Senate File 250 were introduced on January I0, 2003, which would eliminate the requirement that local comprehensive plans be submitted to the Metropolitan Council for review; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey strongly supports the clear need for regional planning and coordination, particularly in relationship to effective and efficient operation of regional services such as wastewater treatment; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey strongly supports regional planning efforts in relation to transportation systems in order to adequately address future transportation congestion. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: I) That the City of Ramsey opposed House File 30 and Senate File 250 which would repeal most State Statute language regarding comprehensive planning in the Metropolitan Area. 2) That the City of Ramsey supports the Land Planning Act language which would require regional planning and coordination through the Metropolitan Council.
