4) Consider Re-Appointments to Parks and ReCreation Commission Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that as of October 31, 2002, terms expired for two members of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Each of these members were contacted and expressed a desire to be re-appointed. Under the term limit ordinance adopted in 19973 Commissioners are allowed to serve two consecutive four-year terms and the completion of a partial term. In the case of Ms. Johns, she has served one partial term ending in 1998, and'one four year term. Her reappointment would be her second and final four-year term. In the case of Mr. LaMere, he has served one partial term ending in 1996, one two year term ending in 1998, and One four year term. If re-appointed, this would be his second and final four-year term. Staff recommended that Commissioners Johns and LaMere be re-appointed for a Second four-year term to the Parks and Recreation Commission for the term of November 1, 2002 through October 31, 2006. Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to recommend that the City Council approve staff's recommendation to re-appoint Jill E. Johns to the Park and Recreation Commission for the term of November 1, 2002 to October 31, 2006, and to recommend that the City Council approve staff's recommendation to re-appoint Tom LaMere to the Parks and Recreation Commission for the term .of November 1, 2002 through October 31, 2006. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, Elvig, Pearson, Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. COMMITTEE INPUT None. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to adjourn the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee.
