She is in the Community Development Department
and is working on this case. She will be able to tell you what has.happened thus far, and when it wilJ be
presented to Council. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me. will try to find
answers for you. Have a great day! Jo

>>> <JFoellPICS@aol.com> 02/12/03 01:50PM >>>
I live near the Gun Club on Variolite, and although do not live within 350
yards of the proposed area, I am concerned that the City of Ramsey is
considering the Interim Permit to park commercial vehicles in this area.

.This is a residential area, near a'city park. This area is used by the
residents here to walk, ride bike (children & adults) and basically enjoy
this neighborhood.

The addition of this traffic, the danger that is inherently associated With
large commercial equipment (children are always drawn to equipment), the
noise from sunrise to sunset, Io say nothing of the unsightly 'look' this
gives to [he residential area, are more than enough reasons NOT to grant this
permit.

We pay taxes to keep the roads and city property maintained -- has any
consideration been given to how that affects the roads? Will the commercial
vehicles be taking 'shor~ cuts' through the side streets?

I was told that any violations of the permit, meaning additional vehicles,
supplies, etc., would be in violation of the permit and would become void. I
do not believe the City of Ramsey has the power to 'move' theviolator after
giving the'permit. (I have a neighbor that violates every ordinance you
have; and nothing can be done about that, so I do doubt that a commercial
company would be dealt with anY more effectively). I was also told that this
appliCation was prompted by a complaint from a resident,, need I say more?
That should have been the end of the discussion.

Ramsey has many area's that may better serve the :company (Gerald Bauer) and
not infringe on this VERY residential area. The City of Ramsey has property
near the city offices that woUld suit this issue better.

I did not see this' item on the Council Agenda, and would be interested in
knowing when that will be discussed. I'm sure the city would allow for input
from residents before approving this permit (350 yards does not cover the
neighborhood). I also did not see minutes from the Planning Commission
regarding this discussion.

MYself, along with my neighbors, will be very disappointed to see this Permit
isSued.

Please let me know when this item will be on the agenda or, whether or nOt
this has already been approved: If it has been approved do the residents
have any recourse?·

Thank you for any insight you can give me on the above.

-186-

I
I
I
