-20- CitY Administrator Norman replied that Staff has had discussion with the Town Center LLc group, but square footage issues have not yet been addressed. Assistant City Administrator Nelson replied that the reason they need to complete the study is so that they can discuss space needs, parking requirements, etc. with the Town Center LLC group. Councihnember Zimmerman inquired if it would be possible to get a comparison on the size of the Police Departments for similar size communities. Police Chief Way replied that staff would be visiting other communities as part of the process. Councilmember Cook inqUired if the Police Chief was interested in keeping the Police Department and City Hall together. Police Chief Way replied absolutely. Councilmember Elvig stated that there is a big picture that they need to get a grasp on, not only the civic area, but also what other projects could be brought into the City to help support the facility. Mayor Gamec rePlied that they need to know what the City's space needs are and then join in with other entities to help support the facility'. Motion by Councihnember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to recommend that the City Council adopt the resolution authorizing the proposal from BKV GrouP for a Space Needs Assessment for the Police Department at a cost not to exceed $11,500 and the use of the encumbered funds from the 2002 budget. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and CounCilmembers Elvig, Kurak, Cook, Pearson, Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No' None. Case//4: City of Ramsey Capital Improvement/Capital Outlay Plan This Case was forwarded to a work session to be held on February 24, 2003 at 5:30 p.m. due to the lack of time. COMMITTEE INPUT None.
