Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-03-XXX RESOLUTION TO INCREASE ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE FEE WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted to consider the increase of fees of the on-sale liquor licenses from $4,000.00 to $4,500.00; and WHEREAS, the fees charged for on-sale liquor licenses have not increased since 1982; and WHEREAS, in a comparison of cities with a population of 10,000 to 20,000, the fees range from $200.00 per year to $10,000.00 per year for on-sale liquor licenses; and WHEREAS, the average on-sale license for comparison cities is $4,753.00 per year; and WHEREAS, all license applications are referred to the Chief of Police and to other City departments for verification and investigation of the facts of the applications; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey conducts alcohol compliance checks on all licensees as defined in Minnesota State Statute; and WHEREAS, this increase in fees will more accurately reflect the costs incurred by the City in issuing and enforcing on-sale liquor licenses. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The Ramsey City Council authorizes the increase in license fees for on-sale liquor from $4,000.00 per year to $4,500.00 per year. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by, Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof'. and the fbllowing voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this 25th day of March, 2003.
