Sean Sullivan

Cc:
Subject:

Ric Larson [rlarson@landmark-bank.net]
Wednesday, June 06, 2007 11 :48 AM
rkirchner@cLanoka.mn.us; skogquist; Sean Sullivan; jrlet@comcast.net;
eric. moen@house.mn: m ail@anokaareachamber.com
T. Ryan Johnson; Michael Scholl; Kevin Johnson
follow up to survey on Bunker Lake median

From:
Sent:
To:

Hello all, Something I didn't put in the survey was the bank's results. We feel our drive up and walk in business
is down about 20,-25% since the median, preventing a north turn onto 47 from the bank, was put in last year
right before the median was extended on Bunker Lake. Customers can get in here from the north or south, but
can't get out to go north, which is a problem for all the businesses we surveyed.

In addition to surveying the businesses, we have discussed these issues with customers of the bank and two
thoughts have been prevalent when thinking of safety:

1) the number of U-Turns now made coming north and south on 47 and coming east on Bunker Lake are
numerous and this can't be a safe situation. There is a left turn lane on Bunker Lake about a block past Wendy's
that now has numerous U-Turns for people going to Wendy's or the other businesses on the south side of
Bunker Lake. This is an accident waiting to happen as cars speed east from the Dysprosium stop light. The
results of the medians have decreased safety. Several times a week someone jumps the curb by the bank and
turns north on 47 out of frustration.

2) To go north on 47 from any of the businesses or the bank, you must go through the residential area NW of the
bank to Dysprosium which you take up to Hwy 5 (Nowthen Blvd.) and then east to the stop light on 47 by the
Holiday station. This traffic goes the speed limit or better and is heavy at times, In the morning the route takes
you past little children waiting for buses, and there is cross traffic moving fast on Dysprosium. It's not good
when highway traffic is forced to go through a residential neighborhood.

I hope this additional information helps.

Landmark and all the businesses in the area appreciate the interest you have shown in trying to find a solution.
Warm Regards, Ric

Ric Larson
Branch President-Ramsey
Landmark Community Bank
14150 St. Francis Blvd. NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
Phone: (763) 444-7727
Fax: (763) 444-7779
rlarson@landmark-bank.net
www.landmark-bank.com

1

28
