Case # 1

Industrial Property Status
By: Sean M. Sullivan, Economic Development Coordinator

Background:

At the April 19 EDA meeting Staff was directed to analyze the Status of City owned industrial
property within the city. Attached is a map that indicates property currently owned by the city,
property purchases in progress, and potential future acquisitions. The City owns about 30 acres
of industrial land currently, is purchasing 4 more, and 40 are listed as potential future
acquisitions. It should be noted that 6 of the acres that City currently owns and in the process of
being sold to developers (Cullinan, Ace Solid Waste) It is becoming clear that the amount of
industrial land controlled by the City is decreasing and at our current rate of development it
likely could be exhausted by 2009. The purpose of this case is to open discussion about future
industrial growth in the City of Ramsey.

Recommendation:

None.

EDA Action:

Based on Discussion

EDA: 6.14.07

8
