<br />CASE #3 <br /> <br />NOW AND THEN ESTATES STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the April 18, 2006 Public Works Committee meeting the subject of the reconstruction <br />of Garnet Street and 168th Avenue located in the Now and Then Estates subdivision was <br />discussed with the Committee. This subdivision is adjacent to the Brookfield Addition <br />which is served with municipal sanitary services. At that time Mr. John Peterson of <br />Oakwood Land Development indicated that he had spoken with the property owners <br />within Now Then Estates and had reached a verbal understanding with approximately <br />80% of them favorable to redevelopment. Mr. Peterson indicated at that time that he . <br />would be in a position to continue the process of addressing the redevelopment later in <br />the summer of 2006. The housing market slowed considerably after this meeting and <br />there has been no further progress toward redevelopment of the subdivision. <br /> <br />Both Gamet Street and l68th Avenue continue to remain in poor condition and staffis <br />interested in determining the wishes of the subdivision residents relative to addressing <br />street improvements.
