CC CASE # <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ON PROPOSAL FOR FIRE COVERAGE IN BURNS TOWNSHIP <br /> By: Dean Kapler, Fire Chief <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In 2002, Fire Chief Kapler made a proposal to the Township of Bums for fire services for <br />the eastern half of the township. At the time, Bums was considering entering a fire <br />district with four other communities and a formal response to Ramsey's proposal was not <br />received. <br /> <br />In April of this year the City Administrator sent a letter to the Township Board asking to <br />reconsider Ramsey's offer, he also requested Fire Chief Kapler attend the board meeting <br />on May 13, 2003 to answer any questions. <br /> <br />At the May 13, 2003 meeting the board asked Fire Chief Kapler to provide proposals for <br />the following: <br /> 1) Eastern half of Bums <br /> 2) Western half of Bums <br /> 3) The entire township <br /> <br />Chief Kapler committed to have a proposal to the board by the first week of June 2003. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff will distribute a table of charges for each proposal at the meeting to discuss. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br />City Administrator <br />Fire Chief <br /> <br />CC: 05/27/2003 <br /> <br />-129- <br /> <br /> <br />
