• <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that the comprehensive plan will be coming to mind around <br />the city to draw people. He stated this is a new process so it will be interesting to see <br />what happens. <br />Board Member Bentz asked if there were rules to abide by and whether outsiders were <br />permitted to voice their opinions. He asked if participants had to be city residents. <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that it will be self regulated. <br />Board Member Bentz stated that charismatic people know how to get people to think. <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that some people know how to <br />change the mood. This will be people that will challenge negativity with positive <br />contributions. <br />Case #4: 2006/2007 EPB Work Plan <br />Chairperson McDilda offered to the group a choice to continue working on the work plan <br />or to put it first on the agenda for the January meeting. <br />Board Member Bentz expressed his desire to get it over with. <br />Board Member Max suggested setting a time limit <br />Chairperson McDilda suggested working until 9:00 p.m. <br />Coordinator Anderson stated that this was actually a two year work plan so something is <br />in place for 2007. He stated there was a request at the last meeting to look at the open <br />space referendums that some of the other communities in the metro area have voted on <br />and passed. He suggested taking a look at the work plan, noting things that are already <br />being done currently, and to make revisions. He suggested that in the interim, if anything <br />comes up between now and January's meeting, he would like to receive an e -mail from <br />EPB members. <br />Board Member Bentz asked if Coordinator Anderson would be taking over the EXPO <br />coordination when Environmental Specialist Bacon retires. <br />Coordinator Anderson stated that Environmental Specialist Bacon may be available to <br />help with the EXPO on a contractual basis. <br />Environmental Specialist Bacon stated that since he is a resident, he will be available. <br />Board Member Max stated that he would like to see a breakout section that includes a <br />tree planting to make an Arbor Day celebration. He stated that the grounds of the new <br />Municipal Center need a ceremonial tree planting. <br />Board Member Max asked if the tree sale would not take place this year. <br />Environmental Policy Board/ December 4, 2006 <br />Page 15 of 19 <br />
