traffic changes of an open house which was held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 to present the
results of the traffic impact study. Four residents (representing two properties) attended this
meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Munson residing at 5900 157th Lane expressed concern for the safety of
children waiting for school buses or playing along 157th Lane which they felt warranted
improved under the existing conditions. Mr. and Mrs. Grams residing at 15764 Osmium Street
were in attendance primarily for informational purposes. In addition, staff met with the two
adjacent neighbors individually. Dan and Cindy Hostetler who reside at 5870 157th Lane
indicated a preference for the status quo, but would be open to considering a number of elements
to mitigate the impact of the extension. Jason and Bonnie Hendricksen who reside at 5850 157th
Lane expressed opposition with the proposal. However, they also would consider mitigation
considerations should the proposed street extension proceed. Staff reiterated at the meetings with
the residents the anticipated schedule outlined in the notification letter. Specifically it was stated
that this issue would be discussed by the Public Works Committee at the regular March 20th
meeting and that the recommendations of the Committee would be considered by the City
Council at the March 27th meeting.

City Engineer Jankowsl(i indicated staff has attempted to contact the owner of the Rum River
Meadows development since it will be necessary to modify the right-of-way configuration for
this development from that of a cul-de-sac to a through street. At the time of this writing the
developer has not responded to staffs request for discussion on this matter. It could be
anticipated that construction of the connecting street would be done at the same time that the
improvements for this subdivision are made.

City Engineer Jankowsl(i advised the estimated cost of pursuing this connection is estimated to
be in the range of 190,000 to $250,000.
