<br />Case #10: <br /> <br />Parking Ramp Safety Concerns <br /> <br />Public Works Director .olson reviewed at the last Committee meeting there was discussion of <br />safety concerns. associated with the disposal chute included in the parking ramp. Staff has <br />developed a low cost pian for securing the snow chute openings on both the top and third levels <br />which consists of a bar grate. constructed of 2 inch steel tubes spaced 4 feet on center. The grat~ <br />will be hinged on the top floor and removable on the.third level. The grating will be locked in <br />place except during snow removal operations. The cost of the work will be approximately $400 <br />and staff has . taken the initiative of ordering the work so, that it can be in place as soon as <br />possible. :He requested discussion from the Committee regarding the inclusion of a panic bar that <br />. was mentioned. <br /> <br />. . <br />. . <br />The consensUs of the Commi~ee was that the grate negates the need for a panic bar. <br /> <br />Case #11: <br /> <br />Lighting at the Municipal Parking Ramp <br /> <br />Consensus of the Committee was to move this case to the full Council for discussion at a regular <br />City Council meeting. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE INPUT <br /> <br />Lighting at Rivers Bend Park <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson indicated laSt year there was a request that. the prioritY light' to be <br />located at the intersection of'Waco Street and 142nd Lane be a traditionaire style, rather than a <br />cobra head. Staff recently received' a request for a light at the entrance to Rivers Bend Park on <br />the comer of 142nd Avenue and Waco Street. Staff'would like to bring forward a request to <br />Council th~t the traditionaire style of light be installed in this locatiop. as well. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson. Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, t~ recommend.to City <br />Council that staff be directed to install a traditionaire style light" at the entrance to Rivers Bend <br />Park on the comer of 142nd Avenue and Waco Street. . . <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Councilmembers Olson and Dehen. Voting. <br />No: None. <br /> <br />Memo - Asmussen Drainage Situation <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski indicated a memo regarding the Asmussen drainage situation is <br />included in the packet for the Committee's information.. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion. by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Counci~ember Dehen, to close the regular <br />meeting of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee I April 17, 2007 <br />Page 17 of 18 <br />
