Chairperson Nixt requested clarification that the garage space would be 17,000 square <br />feet with the addition. <br />Mr. Sigler indicated that is the combined size of the structures, including his horse stable. <br />Commissioner Trites Rolle noted the structure space will be 12,000 square feet over the <br />limit. <br />Chairperson Nixt stated he supports this. They need to recognize the unique value of <br />being in Ramsey where they can be in an urban area, but if you want storage for your <br />toys and hobbies you are entitled to it. This is a 10 -acre lot. He would rather have the <br />things inside than outside, but he would lean towards requiring additional screening. <br />Associate Planner Dalnes indicated there are plans for additional trees to be planted on <br />Armstrong Boulevard. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Trites Rolle, to close the public <br />hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Trites Rolle, Brauer, <br />Cleveland, Hunt, Levine, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br />The public hearing was closed at 8:29 p.m. <br />Commissioner Brauer returned to the meeting at 8:29 p.m. <br />Commission Business <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at <br />8:29 p.m. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to recommend that <br />City Council adopt Findings of Fact favorable to Jeffrey Sigler's request for a conditional <br />use permit. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, Levine, and Trites Rolle. Voting No: None. Absent: None. Abstain: <br />Commissioner Brauer. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Levine, to recommend that City <br />Council approve Jeffrey Sigler's request for a conditional use permit for an overage in <br />allowable accessory structure space and single building size restrictions, with the <br />applicant to work with staff on a landscaping plan for adequate screening. <br />-194- <br />
