There are other areas where accommodations <br />have been made to adhere to setbacks. K. Hovnanian Homes appreciates the opportunity to share <br />their plans with the Commission and looks forward to working with the Commission, staff and <br />the City Council to develop a successful community they all can be proud of. <br /> <br />Commissioner Levine inquired about the preference in the back to back homes to the row homes. <br /> <br />Mr. Siders replied preference for the chateaus are due to price, enhanced architecture, and the <br />overall layout of the floor plan. K. Hovnanian Homes is trying to rebalance the community to <br />provide a 50/50 choice to homeowners that want to come into the community. They are currently <br />at the point where they are running out of chateau homes and are not able to accommodate the <br />additional buyers that would like those models. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Levine, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Levine, Van Scoy, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, and Trites Rolle. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Brauer. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 7: 18 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 7: 18 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt asked whether the applicant has any concerns regarding the Staff Review Letter <br />dated April 26, 2007. <br /> <br />Mr. Kevin Clark, Vice President of Land Development of K. Hovnanian Homes, stated K. <br />Hovnanian Homes feels confident they can work through the issues. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Levine, to recommend that the <br />City Council grant preliminary plat and preliminary site plan approval to Symphony at Town <br />Center contingent upon compliance with the City Staff Review Letter dated April 26, 2007. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Van Scoy, Levine, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, and Trites Rolle. Voting No: None.
