CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 27, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:05 p.m. and led in the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Art Reese, 6300 - 144th Avenue NW, Ramsey, stated he is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of <br />America, Anoka, and their organization was approached by the Anoka County Historical Society <br />and asked if they would be interested in cleaning up the Foster Cemetery. He stated they are <br />interested, but asked if the City would then be willing to take care of the cemetery after the initial <br />clean-up. He added that there is a Boy Scout troop interested in doing some clean-up of the <br />cemetery a couple times a year also. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen felt that the cemetery was really a blight and felt that the City <br />should be maintaining it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen agreed. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that the City does do some maintenance in the cemetery <br />but that it probably needed more. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen also asked for a report on the location of the road to the cemetery. <br /> <br />Terry Hendriksen, 15631 Ramsey Boulevard NW, Ramsey, asked to speak during the discussion <br />of Case #10 and Case #17. <br /> <br />City Council/May 27, 1997 <br /> Page 3 of 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
