INTERVIEWS WITH CITY ADMINISTRATOR FINALISTS <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />On June 19, 2007, the Ramsey City Comci1 selected six individuals as finalists for the city administrator <br />position. Those individuals are: Percy Ashcraft; Calvin PoI1ner; David Minke; Patrick Trodgeon, James <br />Hunn and Kurt Ulrich. As discussed at the Jme 19 wOIk session, each of these individuals will be on-site <br />for orientations with department heads and a community reception on July 12 and interviews with the city <br />council and deparlment heads on July 13 at a special meeting of the city comcil. Please note that the <br />commmity reception and interviews between the city comcil and finalists are open to members of the <br />public. <br /> <br />Waters-Oldani is experiencing delays and has indicated that all interview materials will be delivered to <br />coweil members' homes on Satmday, July 7. The materials that will be delivered to comci1 members by <br />Waters-Oldani include candidates' salary requirements, interview questions and reference and criminal <br />background checks. In addition, mder separate cover, staffis sending each comcil member a three-ring <br />binder containing resmnes and candidate questionnaires. If you did not return your binder to me, pIeose <br />bring it with you to the July 13 spedo1 city coUllCil meeting. You may need to ,qerem:e the infonnotion <br />in the binder. (CoUllCil members Strommen, Elvig & Olson) <br /> <br />Next Steps <br /> <br />After interviews with candidates have been completed, the city comcil will debrief with Waters-Oldani to <br />discuss candidate qualifications and posstble second interviews with the selected candidates. <br /> <br />Funding Sourees <br /> <br />The estimated cost for a search for a new city administrator is $28,500. The first $20,000 of the <br />search will be paid for from the Miscellaneous Professional Services fund in the Administrative <br />Services budget and the remainder will need to be paid using an alternate funding source, such as the <br />Council Contingency Fund. <br /> <br />Attachmenu under separate cover: <br /> <br />.
