<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #07-05-123 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ALLOWING CITY EMPLOYEES TO VOLUNTEER WITH HABITAT <br />FOR HUMANITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is planning to build 24 townhouses in <br />Ramsey over the next three years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity created the Habitat Partnership of <br />Northwest Anoka County (HP AC) to help with fundraising, community engagement. and <br />volunteer recruitment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff is proposing that the City Council extend this volunteer opportunity to <br />Ramsey employees. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to grant four hours of paid leave to full-time employees who use <br />four hours of accrued leave to participate in the Habitat for Humanity volunteer project. <br />This offer would be extended to a maximum of 15 employees on a first come, first served <br />basis. Paid leave granted to part-time employees would be prorated based on the <br />employee's regular work schedule. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Look <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br />
