Case #16: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />#1: Recommend Hiring Nicholas Stolp as Patrol Officer <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize hiring <br />Nicholas Stolp as a Patrol Officer, effective January 3, 1998, at an annual salary of $31,723 <br />contingent on his successfully passing background checks, a physical examination and a <br />psychological examination. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Haas Steffen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />#2: Authorize Hiring Community Development Assistant <br /> <br />This case was tabled at the Personnel Committee level. <br /> <br />#3: <br /> <br />Appoint City Representative to Anoka-Hennepin Community Education Advisory <br />Council <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator Waite Smith stated that staff will talk with the Community Education <br />Coordinator at Ramsey Elementary to receive ideas/recommendations for a representative on the <br />Community Education Advisory Council for Anoka-Hennepin School District. <br /> <br />#4: Consider Pay Increase for Volunteer Fire Fighters <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to approve <br />increases in compensation for 1998, for Fire Department personnel, effective January 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman, Beahen and <br />Haas Steffen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />#5: Authorize Mayor and Acting City Administrator to Negotiate an Employment <br /> Agreement with One of the City Administrator Applicants <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to accept the <br />Personnel Committee's recommendation on which applicant should be offered the City <br />Administrator position, authorize the Mayor and Acting City Administrator to negotiate with that <br />applicant a letter of agreement concerning the terms of employment, direct the Mayor and Acting <br />City Administrator to present the negotiated agreement to the City Attorney for review and to <br />direct the Mayor and the Acting City Administrator to present the negotiated agreement to the <br />City Council for final approval. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
