The following is a brief summary of actions taken by <br />the City CoUncil that may be of interest to the Planning Commission: ' <br /> <br />Conditional Use Permit request for antennafor Milestone Radio: The request was approved by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Requestfor amended Conditional Use Permit and Site Plan Review of Northern Counties Secretarial <br />Service: The request was approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />Request for amended preliminary plat and site plan of D.R Horton ',s RTC 6th Addition: The City Council <br />approved the request for a revised play and revised building elevations. <br /> <br />Request for site plan approval for Boilermaker's expansion: City Council approved the request to expand <br />a portion of the Boilermaker's building to conduct welding operations. <br /> <br />Adopt ordinance to establish an abatement program for code enforcement purposes. The City Council <br />has been discussing current code enforcement policies and procedures over the past year, and is <br />considering implementing an abatement program which would allow the City to abate code violations <br />directly. The Planning Commission will hear amendments to Chapter 9 in regards to tightening up. off- <br />street parking standards related to the abatement program. <br /> <br />City Administrator Search Process: The City Council finished the City Administrator search process <br />last week, and selected Kurt Ulrich, the current City Administrator from Mounds View. Human <br />Resources is currently negotiating the contract, and it is anticipated that:Mr. Ulrich will start at the City of <br />Ramsey within the next 2 months. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan Process: The Comp Plan process is officially beginning Wednesday, August 1st. In <br />lieu of a typical task force, City Staff and Bonestroo will be conducting a series of collaborative planning <br />sessions on topics gleaned from the two OST sessions. The first session on Wednesday will be "Setting <br />the Stage" and will include a discussion of background and demographic information, followed by an <br />OST-like session about confIrming the agenda for the remainder of the sessions. It is imperative that <br />Planning Commissioners attend, as these sessions will serve as the task force for comprehensive planning. <br />The tentative sessions are below, to be confirmed at the first session: <br />August 22nd - Balancing Property Rights with the Public Interest <br />September 12th -Identifying, Protecting, and Enhancing Natural Resources <br />October 3rd _ Housing Choices, Appropriate Density, and Neighborhood Design <br />October 24th- Fpture Expansion of Urban Services (Sewer and Water) <br />November 14th -Traffic Corridor Improvements and Neighborhood Connections <br /> <br />pc: 8/2/07 <br /> <br />155 <br />
