Review economic development activities conducted throughout the <br />County, 311d <br />. Identify economic development services the County could provide to <br />communities. <br /> <br />Under Minnesota Statutes Section 469.1082 (see Appendix A), appointment of <br />the local committee is the first step that counties must take when considering the <br />establishment of a county Economic Development Authority (EDA) or <br />extending EDA powers to a county Housing and R~pevelopment Authority <br />(HRA). ., <br /> <br /> <br />Subdivision 3 of this section requires the con;!niee t~:if~:pe a report within 90 <br />days of its initial meeting recommending t~~:p'referred or~ational option for <br />a county economic development service~p~:6vider. Maintaining the existing structure. <br /> <br />The Anoka County Board of Commissioners appointed members to the <br />Economic Development Exploratory Committee from among those individuals <br />whose names were nominated by Cities 311d townships. Consistent with the <br />requirements of Subdivision 2, political subdivision representatives selected by <br />their local government,constituted more than 50 percerit of the total committee <br />membership, and included at least one city official, at least one HRA official, <br />and at least one township official. Two Anoka County Commissioners also <br />served on the committee.
