Tax base gro~b and job creation are major themes that emerged <br />from the committee's review of responses to the Local Government <br />InventoI1/ Questionnaire. - - <br />Two major themes dominated discussions about economic development <br />activities: tax base growth and job creation. The County and its communities <br />want to expand the existing tax base by attracting new businesses and retaining <br />businesses located in Anoka County. <br /> <br />In addition to creating a larger property tax base, business growth and retention <br />will create more jobs. Data compiled by the Anoka County Workforce Center <br />reported that 59% of Anoka County workers left the County daily to go to their <br />places of employment.
