business community for the event. This lack of support is clearly identified by the
lack of repeat participants and the difficulty experienced by the Commission in
recruiting businesses. This is a similar reason for the Anoka Area Chamber of
Commerce deciding to end their sponsoring of an EXPO for the City of Anoka.
This smaller public version will allow for the event to be conducted in conjunction
with the Ramsey Lions Community Picnic.

The Commission is also recommending that the City no longer sponsor a booth at
the annual Game Fair event. In the last three years that the City has been
participating in this event, the City and booth have recieved little positive feedback.
The participation has generally been looked at as "the City providing balloons for
kids". The use of these marketing dollars could be better directed at the business
breakfast program and visitation program.

These changes and new projects vfill better allow for the EDC to continue to be a viable
member of the City of Ramsey organization and should allow for greater ease in attracting
and retaining Commissionmembers. The EDC also believes that the City needs to address
these projects as opportunities change along Highway #10, with the increased pressures of
ongoing development.

The EDC welcomes the opportunity to discuss these suggestions and review any additional
projects that you would like the Commission to undertake in the future. Should you
require any additional information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact
any of the Commissionmembers or attend our March meeting.

K~e~Wi~;6er~~ersOil
Home 441-1971 - Work 780-1797

David Kent
Home 753-5131 - Work 389-4903

F.~CSmmis~n~i~7j~ Carolyn Nelson
Home 441-0457 - Work 930-4202
