Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Authorize Entering into Joint Powers Agreement between Local Unit and <br />Anoka County for Assessment <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the City of Ramsey currently contracts with Anoka County for <br />assessing services. She presented the proposed contract for the Committee to review. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend <br />City Council authorize the Mayor and Acting-City Administrator to enter into and sign the Joint <br />Powers Agreement between Local Unit and Anoka County for assessment contingent upon City <br />Attorney review. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Haas Steffen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case//3: Authorize Request for Proposals for Banking Services <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart explained the City's banking accounts and procedures and stated that she <br />would like authorization to request proposals from the two local banks as she would like to keep <br />as much of the activity within the community as possible. She communicated that she would do <br />business with both banks and keep it as equitable as possible. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend <br />City Council direct staff to solicit proposals for banking services by distributing the "Request for <br />Proposal - Banking Services" to banking institutions located within the community. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Award Contract for Residential Curbside Recycling Program <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reminded the Committee that Council directed staff to solicit proposals for <br />residential curbside recycling for a minimum three-year contract. One response was received <br />which was from Ace who currently provides this service. The rates they proposed are <br />$1.56/month/household for 1998, $1.66/month/household for 1999, and $1.78/month/household <br />for the year 2000. The current rate to the end of 1997 is $1.37/month/household. This amount <br />had not been increased in three years. The proposal also includes an option for picking up <br />clothes/textiles. This would be an additional six cents per household if the City desires to add <br />this service.
