<br />/ <br />----- <br /> <br />City Council Work Session <br />Topic Report: Youth First Update <br />By: Tim Gladhill <br />Management Intern <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Lease for property owned by the City of Ramsey located at 6701 Highway 10 NW (former <br />NAU site) with Youth First, Community of Promise is set to expire at the end of the month. As <br />Council may recall, the City of Ramsey has agreed to forgo lease revenue for this portion of the <br />building. Youth First does carry liability insurance for their operation, while the City insures the <br />site. Attached to the case are the minutes related to the discussion of the Youth First Lease dated <br />December li\ 2006. <br /> <br />Staffis proposing a two (2) year extension of the Lease with Youth First, Community of <br />Promise. Formal adoption of the Lease extension has been placed on the 8/14 Regular Council <br />Agenda. <br /> <br />Heidi Geiss of Youth First will be present to give an update on activities that have been, and are <br />proposed to be at the Ramsey site. Ms. Geiss will give a presentation on how Youth First <br />Community of Promise has served the Oak Park Terrace community and the City of Ramsey as a <br />whole. <br /> <br />Youth First, Community of Promise has also submitted a request for use of Charitable Gambling <br />. Funds. A copy of that request will be available at the Work Session. Staff is seeking direction on <br />whether Council is in support of extending the use of Charitable Gambling Funds to <br />programmmg. <br /> <br />Funding Source: <br /> <br />RALF, Charitable Gambling Fund. <br /> <br />Action Statement: <br /> <br />Based upon discussion. <br /> <br />CCWS: 08/14/2007 <br />
