C -8 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br />DATE: August 14, 2007 <br />SUBJECT: Approval to Operate Bingo <br />The attached application is from the Ramsey Women of Today for exemption from a lawful <br />gambling license to operate bingo on September 15, 2007 at the City of Ramsey's Happy Day's <br />event. City approval/denial is necessary under the State Statues. The Ramsey Women of Today <br />meets all of the requirements which allow them to remain exempt from licensing. <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br />—21— <br />
